Papua New Guinea Program - Bridget Ingham

Sent from: MAF in New Zealand
Serving in: Papua New Guinea
The Story
God first placed the desire to become a pilot in Bridget’s heart when she was just 11 years old. She grew up in a Christian family and excelled academically, completing a PhD in physics in 2005 and later working as a research scientist in the UK, USA, and New Zealand. During her undergraduate studies she earned her private pilot’s licence, though she let it lapse when she moved overseas.
In early 2016, God reminded Bridget of her long-held dream to fly. As she explored what it would take to become a MAF pilot, she began to see how the different threads of her life—her abilities, opportunities, and experiences—fit together, revealing God’s plan all along.
Bridget obtained her commercial pilot’s licence in 2017 and began working with MAF in 2019 as a flight instructor at the MAF Flight Training Centre in Mareeba, Australia. In 2020, she also spent six months serving as a relief pilot in Timor-Leste. She now serves in Papua New Guinea as a mission pilot.
Bridget is deeply excited to be used by God in this way, serving Him through her work with MAF. She knows the future may not always be easy, but she trusts that God goes before her. She gives thanks and praise for everyone who is supporting her on this journey of faith.
Bridget is a member of MAF New Zealand.
Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. – Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
